Japan Airlines unveils 737-800 livery for GREEN×EXPO 2027

Japan Airlines has unveiled a Boeing 737-800 in a special livery for GREEN×EXPO 2027, the International Horticultural Expo due to open in Yokohama on 19 March 2027. The 165-seat aircraft, registration JA344J, features the event’s mascot, Tunku Tunku, and is scheduled to enter service on 7 November. Its first flight will be JL231 from Tokyo Haneda to Okayama, with the aircraft planned to operate on JAL 737-800 routes until around September 2027.

The livery will promote the expo on domestic services before and during the event. From November, JAL will also offer specially designed paper cups and show official expo videos on board.

The unveiling took place on 6 November at a ceremony that included fashion designer Junko Koshino and a fashion show featuring 37 JAL Group employees. JAL also plans to put the expo design on a second aircraft for international service, but has not specified its type or when it will enter service.
