GA Telesis completes AFRA recertification audit

GA Telesis has completed its recertification audit under the Aircraft Fleet Recycling Association’s (AFRA) Best Management Practices (BMP), the framework for responsible aircraft disassembly and material recovery. The Fort Lauderdale-based company works with Ascent Aviation Services as its contracted disassembly partner. The announcement did not specify the audit location, certificate validity period or any aircraft and material recovery figures.

GA Telesis described the recertification as part of its approach to aircraft asset management and recycling, covering quality, environmental stewardship, operational safety and oversight of contracted disassembly. AFRA’s BMP apply to the handling of aircraft at the end of their service lives and the recovery of reusable materials and parts.

Jim Sokol, president of GA Telesis’ Flight Solutions Group, linked environmental responsibility with commercial performance. The company said its practices support asset recovery, aftermarket solutions and customer sustainability objectives, but provided no quantified results. It credited Ascent Aviation Services for its collaboration during the audit.
