Virgin Australia to reopen Perth Beyond Lounge and refurbish Brisbane facility

Virgin Australia will reopen its invitation-only Beyond Lounge at Perth Airport in early 2027 and invest several million dollars in refurbishing its Brisbane domestic lounge. The Brisbane project will add about 100 seats and is expected to be completed by mid-2027. The Perth opening will extend the Beyond network to four cities: Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth.

The Perth lounge will occupy the former site of The Club, which closed during the pandemic. Access will remain by invitation, targeting decision-makers at major corporate accounts and selected business leaders. Virgin Australia linked the investment to growth in its Western Australian corporate customer base, particularly across the energy, mining and resources sectors, where frequent business travel is important.

Brisbane’s lounge opened more than a decade ago. The refurbishment will include power at every seat, upgraded bathrooms and showers, new furniture and refreshed décor. Planned additions include a four-person meeting room, individual work pods, a self-service beverage area and floor-to-ceiling windows.

The airline will not reopen Brisbane’s Priority Entry express lane after the work. Eligible passengers will continue to have access to priority security screening. Virgin Australia also signalled further domestic lounge refurbishments in coming years, but did not identify other locations or provide timelines. Exact dates for the Perth reopening and Brisbane works have not been specified.
