Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) has renewed its partnership with Dutch airport-systems supplier Vanderlande to maintain the baggage-handling system at Bahrain International Airport. Vanderlande will continue to provide maintenance and technical support, with the work intended to sustain system availability and operational readiness for airlines and other airport partners. The renewal was announced on the sidelines of the Gateway Gulf Investment Forum 2026 in Bahrain; no contract duration or financial terms were disclosed.
The agreement continues an existing maintenance relationship rather than covering installation of a new baggage system. BAC manages and operates Bahrain International Airport, where reliable baggage processing is part of day-to-day operations and passenger handling.
BAC chief executive Ahmed Janahi described baggage handling as central to passenger experience and efficient airport operations. Vanderlande executive Erik Westgeest indicated that the company would continue providing specialist maintenance support. The parties disclosed no changes to the maintenance scope.
