Embraer confirms Greece has contracted three KC-390s, with options for three more

Greece has signed a contract for three Embraer KC-390 Millennium aircraft, with options for a further three, under a government-to-government agreement with Portugal. The Hellenic Air Force is scheduled to receive its first aircraft in 2027. The deal covers airlift and air-to-air refuelling capabilities; its value has not been disclosed by Embraer.

The contract was signed in Athens by Greece’s Ministry of National Defense. Greek Defence Minister Nikos Dendias and his Portuguese counterpart, Nuno Melo, attended the signing. The agreement also provides for European cooperation in training, support and logistics.

Embraer identifies Greece as the seventh European country to select the KC-390, after Portugal, Hungary, the Netherlands, Austria, the Czech Republic and Sweden. No delivery schedule for the remaining contracted aircraft was given, and the three additional aircraft remain options rather than confirmed orders.
