Boeing Distribution adds General Ecology water-filtration systems to portfolio

Boeing Distribution has signed a global agreement to distribute water-filtration cartridges and systems from General Ecology to commercial aviation customers. The deal expands the products available through Boeing’s parts channel, using its logistics network, inventory and 24/7 e-commerce platform to improve access. The agreement was presented at MRO Europe in Amsterdam, held from 27 to 29 October; no start date, order volumes, pricing or airline customers were disclosed.

Based in Exton, Pennsylvania, General Ecology has more than 50 years of water-treatment experience. Its purification systems use Structured Matrix cartridge technology and are designed to remove microorganisms, chemicals and particulates. Boeing’s account of the agreement reports that qualifying systems exceed US Environmental Protection Agency standards for virus and bacteria removal, and that some meet NSF lead-removal standards. These performance and standards claims are company-reported.

The companies did not identify specific aircraft, installation applications or expected operational effects. Boeing Distribution executive Mini Desai described the deal as extending the reach of General Ecology’s products through Boeing’s supply chain. General Ecology’s Joseph Gallo said the partnership would broaden global access to its systems.
