Jet2 has launched a Boeing 737-800NG with a dedicated business-class cabin for charter operations, replacing the 189 seats in its standard configuration with 76 seats offering at least 43 inches of legroom. Based at Liverpool John Lennon Airport, the aircraft had already carried its first charter customers by 28 October. It is available for additional charter bookings during the winter season; the cabin is not intended for Jet2’s scheduled services.
The configuration targets groups travelling for sports, music and entertainment events, as well as other charter customers seeking more space and privacy. Jet2 is also offering upgraded catering tailored to customer requirements.
The aircraft’s reduced capacity allows for substantially more space per passenger than the carrier’s standard 737-800 layout. Jet2 has not provided further technical details of the cabin or identified the aircraft by registration in its announcement.
