Vietjet signs Starlink partnership for free Wi-Fi across 120 aircraft

Vietjet has signed a strategic partnership with Starlink to provide free high-speed Wi-Fi on Vietjet-branded flights across its domestic and international network. The initial rollout covers 120 aircraft, including 100 Airbus A321 and Boeing 737 jets and 20 Airbus A330s, with all future deliveries also slated to receive the service.

The agreement was reached in New York during the working visit to the United States by Vietnam’s General Secretary and President To Lam. Vietjet is positioning the satellite link for operations beyond conventional coverage areas, including over oceans and in remote regions, where low-latency connectivity can support long-haul and thin-route services.

The move extends Starlink further into commercial aviation at a time when airlines are seeking wider, more reliable onboard connectivity. For Vietjet, the plan ties the service to fleet growth rather than a one-off retrofit programme, allowing the network to expand in step with future aircraft arrivals.
