US to provide three King Air surveillance aircraft to Philippine Coast Guard

The United States has awarded Technology Service Corp. a $39.6 million contract to supply the Philippine Coast Guard with three pre-owned King Air 350 aircraft, including two fitted with surveillance systems. The work will support maritime domain awareness and is scheduled for completion in September 2028.

The aircraft package includes two King Air 350s equipped with intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance hardware and mission-management software, while the third will remain in a standard configuration. All three aircraft are to receive extended-range fuel tanks, upgraded avionics and high-frequency radios, along with sensor-operator training, ferry flights to the Philippines, technical manuals and training materials.

The deal follows a February 2026 agreement between U.S. and Philippine officials and comes amid heightened maritime tensions in the South China Sea. Work is centred in Crystal City, Virginia, with smaller portions in Kansas, North Carolina, Florida and Manila. The contract was not competitively bid and is funded through foreign military sales.
