A U.S. Army MH-60 Black Hawk assigned to the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment came down during routine training near Denver, Colorado, on Tuesday, with all four crew members escaping injury. The aircraft landed on the east side of Thorodin Mountain in Gilpin County, north of Golden Gate Canyon State Park and about 25 miles west of the city.
Emergency crews reached the site after the Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office reported the incident, and authorities found no fuel leak or fire and no known threat to the surrounding community. The Army classed the event as an aviation mishap and opened a safety investigation. The cause has not been disclosed, and the service has not identified where the sortie originated or what the training mission involved.
