TransMedics has selected Gogo Galileo HDX connectivity for its fleet of 22 Embraer Phenom 300E aircraft conducting time-critical donor-organ transport missions across the United States. Installation is under way across the fleet and is expected to be completed by 2027, enabling continuous in-flight monitoring through TransMedics’ Organ Care System.
Galileo HDX uses Eutelsat OneWeb’s low-Earth-orbit satellite network. Its electronically steered antenna can support simultaneous cloud-based monitoring, video communications and operational data exchange, allowing organ-status information to be transmitted in real time during flights.
TransMedics selected the system for its connectivity performance, cybersecurity, system redundancy and active monitoring capabilities. The agreement also includes Gogo cybersecurity services and 24/7/365 multilingual customer support.
The deployment applies business-aviation satellite connectivity to medical logistics rather than executive transport. TransMedics plans to extend the capability to its European fleet in 2028. Gogo describes TransMedics as the first and only organ-transplant company to equip its full fleet with the system, a claim not independently verified.
