TAP to boost Lisbon–Berlin capacity in October with Airbus A330neo flights

TAP Air Portugal will raise capacity on its Lisbon–Berlin route in early October with seven extra roundtrips, including four operated by the Airbus A330-900neo. The temporary uplift is scheduled for 3, 4, 8 and 9 October, adding a widebody aircraft to a short-haul European service normally flown with narrowbodies.

Two additional roundtrips are planned for 3 October and two more for 4 October, followed by one extra rotation on 8 October and two on 9 October. The supplementary services will also use Airbus A320, A320neo and A321 aircraft. The use of the A330-900neo on Berlin is the most unusual element of the schedule, as it indicates TAP is reallocating long-haul capacity to cover near-term demand on a route linking Portugal and Germany. No formal explanation for the change was provided, and the adjustment appears limited to the stated dates.
