Saudia Cargo has opened its first direct scheduled freighter service between Riyadh and Melbourne, adding a non-stop Saudi Arabia-Australia cargo lane. The route began on 25 July and uses a Boeing 747-400 freighter with more than 100 tonnes of payload and nose-loading capability, positioning it for perishables, pharmaceuticals, industrial freight and e-commerce flows. The link between King Khalid International Airport and Melbourne Avalon Airport trims indirect routings and gives shippers a cleaner uplift option for time-sensitive cargo. It also extends Saudia Cargo’s Asia-Pacific network while supporting export-led trade diversification.
