Ryanair will not resume flights from Leipzig/Halle or Dresden in the summer 2027 schedule after talks on restarting service ended without agreement. The dispute centres on site costs at the two eastern German airports, with both Ryanair and Mitteldeutsche Flughafen AG confirming that the airline will remain absent from the routes for now.
The last Ryanair services from the airports ended by March 2025, when Leipzig/Halle was linked with London and Dresden with Mallorca. MFAG said the conditions offered were not competitive enough to secure Ryanair’s summer 2027 business, while the airline has kept open the possibility of winter 2027/28 flights. No destinations or commitments have been set for that period, leaving any return uncertain. The failure to reach terms underlines the continued weakness of Ryanair’s German footprint and leaves travellers in the region without the low-cost links they had hoped to regain in summer 2027.
