Ryanair will station a fourth Boeing 737 at Memmingen Airport by the end of 2026, expanding its winter 2026/27 base to 25 routes. The airline expects to carry more than 700,000 passengers during the season, with new services to Catania in Sicily and Tirana in Albania. The additional aircraft will also support four routes planned from summer 2027: Seville, Castellón, Varna and Rimini.
Ryanair’s winter schedule at Memmingen will run from 25 October 2026 to 27 March 2027. The airline had previously outlined a 12% capacity increase at the Bavarian airport, with the fourth aircraft providing further detail on the expansion.
Marcel Meyer-Pouchain, Ryanair’s Germany manager, said the aircraft would enable the four summer 2027 routes. The airline has not disclosed whether the aircraft will be newly delivered or transferred from another base, nor has it provided route frequencies or an exact deployment date.
The expansion contrasts with Ryanair’s capacity reductions at several larger German airports, including Berlin, Bremen and Hamburg. Memmingen’s lower airport charges and cost-efficient infrastructure have made it a priority for the airline as it reallocates capacity towards selected airports in southwest Germany.
