RwandAir has added an Airbus A330-200 to its fleet, the first of five A330 aircraft planned for the carrier’s long-haul expansion. The arrival, announced on Monday, gives Rwanda’s national airline extra widebody capacity as it continues to build services on longer routes.
The new jet strengthens the carrier’s ability to support network growth across its international operations. It also forms part of a broader fleet strategy centred on adding widebody aircraft to improve reach and operational scale. Four more A330s are expected to follow under the same programme, although the schedule for those deliveries has not been disclosed.
The addition comes as African carriers continue to invest in long-haul fleets to compete for traffic on intercontinental routes. For RwandAir, the aircraft expands capacity at a time when the airline is pursuing continued growth beyond its regional network.
