Romania’s Ministry of Internal Affairs has ordered seven Airbus H160s and five H145s, locking in a 12-aircraft rotary-wing fleet for state missions.
The contract gives the ministry a mixed fleet that combines the H160’s larger cabin and range with the H145’s lighter, more flexible footprint. The split points to multi-role use across public safety, search and rescue, and other government tasking, with commonality across Airbus support and training pipelines. For operators, the deal adds another European state customer to Airbus Helicopters’ order book at a time when demand remains strong for mission-ready twin-engine platforms.
The next question is delivery pacing and fleet integration, which will determine how quickly the aircraft enter service.
