Raytheon-Rafael Protection Systems has delivered the first Tamir interceptors produced at its Camden, Arkansas facility, beginning U.S. manufacturing of the Iron Dome missile used by Israel’s air defence system. The handover took place in East Camden, where company executives joined federal and state officials to mark the start of domestic production and the opening of a new supply source for Tamir and SkyHunter missiles.
The Camden plant opened in November 2025 and is part of a joint venture between Raytheon, an RTX business, and Rafael Advanced Defense Systems. The facility represents a $63 million investment and is expected to support up to 60 jobs.
R2S plans to use the site for wider output beyond Israel-bound Tamir interceptors. It will also produce SkyHunter, the U.S. variant of Tamir, for the U.S. Marine Corps’ Medium Range Intercept Capability programme. The company has positioned Camden as a production base for both domestic and international demand, expanding capacity for short- and medium-range air defence interceptors.
