Qatar Airways will launch direct flights between Doha and Western Sydney International Airport on 15 December 2027, opening its seventh Australian gateway. The service will initially operate three times weekly using Boeing 777-300ER aircraft configured with 42 Qsuite Business Class seats and 312 Economy Class seats. The airline plans to increase the route to daily operations in 2028, subject to operational and commercial implementation.
Flight QR906 will depart Doha at 01:40 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, arriving in Western Sydney at 23:45. Return flight QR907 will leave Western Sydney at 16:10 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, reaching Doha at 23:00. Tickets are scheduled to go on sale on 19 December 2026.
The route will operate in addition to Qatar Airways’ existing services to Sydney and will connect Western Sydney with Doha and more than 170 destinations across the carrier’s network. The Australian airport, located in New South Wales, is designed for around-the-clock operations, enabling the late arrival and offering an alternative to Sydney’s existing gateway.
Qatar Airways’ Australian network also includes Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and Canberra. The new service follows an updated bilateral air-services agreement between Australia and Qatar secured earlier in 2026.
