Qatar Airways Cargo has opened a regional office in Hong Kong and signed a memorandum of understanding with Airport Authority Hong Kong to deepen cooperation on air connectivity and aviation development. The move centres on Hong Kong International Airport, where the cargo carrier already operates about 56 weekly flights across its global network using both bellyhold and dedicated freighter capacity, while planning to expand frequencies and open new routes through the city.
Hong Kong’s transport and logistics leadership welcomed the development as the territory looks to strengthen cargo flows, widen network links and reach more under-served markets, including destinations in South America. The agreement also places emphasis on operational excellence, service enhancement, sustainability and talent development.
The additional presence in Hong Kong gives Qatar Airways Cargo a stronger base in one of Asia’s main airfreight hubs, where access to wide regional and long-haul connectivity remains a key competitive factor. The partnership with the airport authority is intended to support further network growth and improve the handling of cargo demand through the city.
