Qantas launches nonstop Sydney to London service in October 2027

Qantas will operate its first nonstop Sydney–London flight in October 2027, marking the inaugural Project Sunrise route. The 22-hour journey uses a modified Airbus A350-1000ULR configured for 238 passengers, eliminating the Singapore stopover and cutting travel time by four hours. Tickets become available in February 2027, with the first aircraft delivered in April 2027. This direct link establishes the sector’s longest commercial flight, redefining point-to-point connectivity between Australia’s East Coast and Europe.
