Poland and Boeing have signed offset agreements in Łódź to create what officials described as Europe’s largest authorised support centre for the AH-64E Apache Guardian fleet. The project, based at Wojskowe Zakłady Lotnicze Nr 1, is tied to Poland’s planned force of 96 Apache helicopters and will cover maintenance, repair, overhaul, ground-support work and selected depot-level component repairs.
The agreements bring WZL-1 and the Military Central Bureau of Design and Technology into long-term industrial cooperation with Boeing, shifting part of the Apache programme’s sustainment work into Poland. The centre is intended to build domestic capability for servicing the new fleet and reduce reliance on foreign support channels once deliveries begin.
Polish officials have framed the Łódź site as a broader industrial and strategic asset, with the potential to handle work for allied Apache operators later on. Reporting also points to a possible expansion in employment at the state-owned aviation plant, while leaving open the final scale and timing of the build-out.
