Omni Táxi Aéreo has selected Honeywell Aerospace’s IntuVue RDR-7000 weather radar for its entire fleet of 33 Leonardo AW139 helicopters. The fleet-wide upgrade targets offshore missions, where earlier weather detection and dependable operations are central to safety and scheduling.
The RDR-7000 is designed to give crews earlier warnings of turbulence, hail, lightning and wind shear by continuously scanning the atmosphere and building a real-time picture of conditions ahead. Honeywell has also linked the system to improved turbulence prediction, but that performance claim remains a manufacturer figure rather than independently verified operating data. Omni operates around 88 helicopters worldwide, making the AW139 a major part of its fleet. The agreement replaces a partial approach with a standardised avionics and safety package across all 33 aircraft.
