Norse Atlantic is in talks with Pakistan International Airlines and Biman Bangladesh Airlines over leasing up to six Boeing 787 Dreamliners as the Norwegian carrier looks to ease pressure on its finances. The discussions cover possible dry or wet lease structures, which would allow the aircraft to be operated with or without Norse-provided crew, maintenance and insurance.
The talks come as the long-haul airline faces low cash reserves and higher fuel costs. By placing more of its 787 fleet with other operators, Norse could generate additional revenue from aircraft that may otherwise be idle or underused while preserving the productivity of its widebody assets.
The reported negotiations do not amount to a completed transaction, and the parties have not publicly confirmed any signed agreement. Still, the interest from two Asian carriers points to continued demand for long-haul capacity and to Norse’s effort to keep its 787 fleet commercially active while it navigates a tight liquidity position.
