Norse Atlantic is in talks with Pakistan International Airlines and Biman Bangladesh Airlines to lease out up to six Boeing 787 Dreamliners, with the potential deals ranging from dry lease to wet lease structures. The discussions centre on the Norwegian carrier’s long-haul fleet as it seeks to monetise aircraft amid pressure from weak cash reserves and higher fuel costs.
The reported negotiations involve Boeing 787s already in Norse Atlantic’s fleet, with the two Asian carriers considering different lease formats depending on operational needs. For Norse Atlantic, a transaction of this kind would shift part of its widebody capacity into third-party leasing rather than relying solely on scheduled passenger operations.
Biman Bangladesh has separately moved to expand its own 787 fleet, issuing a request for proposals for the dry lease of three 787-9 aircraft for a 72-month term, with delivery preferred by the start of 2027. That tender reinforces the broader market context for widebody leasing in South Asia, where carriers continue to look for flexible capacity solutions.
