Morocco has taken delivery of its first Airbus C295W tactical transport aircraft, with the jet ferried from Airbus Defence and Space’s final-assembly line in Seville to Kénitra on 29 September. The aircraft, registered CN-AMT, appears to be the first unit in an undisclosed order, while reports indicate at least one more aircraft is expected.
The delivery strengthens the Royal Moroccan Air Force’s tactical transport fleet and adds a modern platform for troop movement, cargo and medical evacuation. It also broadens Morocco’s mix of transport aircraft, which already includes CN-235, C-27J and C-130H types in service.
Airbus has not publicly disclosed the contract, and Rabat has not released the number of aircraft ordered, the value of the deal or the delivery schedule. The aircraft had already been seen in Moroccan colours in May, suggesting the programme has been in motion for several months before the handover. While the exact fleet size remains unconfirmed, multiple reports point to a purchase of two to four C295Ws.
