Malcolm Chandler returns to Vallair as MRO Sales Director

Vallair has appointed Malcolm Chandler as MRO Sales Director – Lessors & Airlines, bringing him back to the company in a senior commercial role as it expands its maintenance, repair and overhaul business. Chandler will oversee MRO activities across Vallair’s Châteauroux and Montpellier facilities, supporting new business development and customer relationships across airframes, engines and aerostructures.

Chandler’s responsibilities include developing opportunities and improving commercial support for Vallair’s airframe services, including base maintenance, lease transfers, parking and storage, painting and teardown. His remit also covers engine storage, part-out and light repairs, together with aerostructures activity.

The appointment comes as Vallair broadens its widebody maintenance offering. In June, the company secured approval to perform Airbus A330neo base maintenance at Châteauroux, covering scheduled heavy checks, structural inspections, modifications and related technical services for the A330-800 and A330-900. The 8,500-square-metre facility is dedicated to Airbus aircraft.

Vallair received its first A330neo for full base maintenance at Châteauroux in October. The aircraft, operated by a South American airline, arrived after the company obtained the type-rating approval during the summer. Chandler’s commercial remit therefore includes supporting customer demand for the expanded capability while Vallair continues to develop its wider MRO portfolio.
