LYGG has celebrated the launch of its business air connection between Emden, Germany, and Esbjerg, Denmark, with events at both airports on 27 October. The service operates three days a week, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Flights run either directly between the cities or via Groningen, depending on the rotation; LYGG has not specified which flights follow each routing.
The connection is aimed at companies operating across the North Sea, including businesses in offshore and energy industries. Emden is a centre for Germany’s wind-energy sector, while Esbjerg serves industrial activity on Denmark’s west coast. LYGG describes the route as part of its expanding North Sea network.
The Emden arrival was marked with a water salute. LYGG chief executive Roope Kekäläinen, Emden Airport managing director Olaf Schmidt and Emden mayor Tim Kruithoff attended the launch events. Companies can book individual seats or arrange travel through a corporate agreement.
The operator has not provided departure times, fares, passenger figures or a demand forecast. It has also indicated that further destinations or frequencies could be considered as demand develops, without giving a timetable. Earlier route information identifies a 19-seat aircraft, but the launch announcement did not specify the aircraft type.
