Lufthansa adds operating dates for first A350-1000

Lufthansa has released additional bookable operating dates for its first Airbus A350-1000, extending the aircraft’s planned deployment from Munich into January 2027. The aircraft, named “Deutschland” and painted in the airline’s centenary livery, is scheduled to make its passenger debut on 3 December 2026 on the Munich–Tokyo-Haneda route before rotating across selected services to Shanghai and Singapore.

Additional Tokyo-Haneda departures are planned for 5, 7, 9, 11, 14, 17, 20, 24, 28 and 31 December, followed by 6 and 9 January. The aircraft is also scheduled to operate Munich–Shanghai Pudong on 18 and 25 December and 7 January, while planned Munich–Singapore services fall on 12, 15, 22 and 29 December, and 1 and 4 January.

Lufthansa plans to ferry the aircraft from Airbus facilities in Toulouse to Munich in mid-November, where it will undergo final preparations before entering passenger service. The initial schedule will alternate the A350-1000 with the smaller A350-900 on the three routes, with both types equipped with Lufthansa’s Allegris cabin.

The new operating dates provide a clearer view of the aircraft’s initial role within Lufthansa’s Munich long-haul network. Munich Airport background information indicates that nine further A350-1000s are planned to be stationed at the hub progressively. Schedules remain subject to operational changes.
