Latitude Air Ambulance G100 missing off Nantucket after Bermuda flight

A Canadian-registered Gulfstream G100 operated by Latitude Air Ambulance vanished from radar on Saturday after departing Bermuda for Boston with six people on board, triggering a US Coast Guard search off Nantucket and along the Massachusetts coast. The medical transport jet had declared an emergency before contact was lost, and authorities later found a debris field in the search area. The aircraft was registered to the Ontario-based company that specialises in medevac and patient repatriation.

The flight carried two pilots, two medical staff, one patient and one family member, according to people familiar with the operation. Search teams deployed air and surface assets as the Coast Guard focused on waters near Nantucket, the last known location of the jet. The aircraft had left L.F. Wade International Airport in Bermuda bound for Boston Logan International Airport.

The exact cause of the disappearance remained unclear in the initial reports, and no official confirmation of a crash had been issued. Latitude Air Ambulance operates a fleet that includes Gulfstream G100 aircraft, which are used for long-range medical evacuation missions.
