L2 Aviation and Gotonomi have formed a strategic partnership to extend unmanned aircraft connectivity beyond cellular coverage, targeting UAV and advanced air mobility operations across North America. The collaboration combines L2 Aviation’s integration and certification capabilities with Gotonomi’s compact satellite communications technology to support command and control, telemetry and mission-critical data links in remote or connectivity-constrained environments.
L2 Aviation will provide engineering, integration, installation and certification support to help operators fit the communications system into aircraft and clear regulatory hurdles. The arrangement is aimed at uncrewed aircraft and AAM platforms that need resilient links where cellular, Wi-Fi and other terrestrial networks are limited or unavailable.
The deal also aligns with Viasat’s Velaris ecosystem for UAV and AAM satellite communications. L2 Aviation joined that ecosystem through Galaxy 1 Communications in May, linking the new partnership to a wider effort to build out non-terrestrial connectivity options for uncrewed aviation.
