JetBlue’s BlueFirst domestic first class goes on sale across more than 30 routes

JetBlue has opened bookings for BlueFirst, its new domestic First-Class product, on selected flights across more than 30 routes. Commercial service is scheduled to begin on 8 December with daily flights between Boston Logan International Airport and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, using aircraft that are not equipped with the carrier’s Mint cabin.

Within days of the launch, BlueFirst is planned for selected Fort Lauderdale–New York LaGuardia flights, followed by additional services from December through April. The rollout includes routes from Fort Lauderdale, Boston, New York-JFK, New York-LaGuardia and Westchester County to destinations in the United States, the Caribbean and Latin America.

Examples include Fort Lauderdale–Buffalo, Fort Lauderdale–Washington, Boston–Austin, Fort Lauderdale–Aruba, Fort Lauderdale–Cartagena, New York-JFK–Cancún, New York-JFK–San Juan, Fort Lauderdale–Medellín and Boston–Orlando.

BlueFirst is intended to complement rather than replace Mint, JetBlue’s lie-flat premium product on selected longer-haul and transcontinental routes. The new cabin is aimed at markets where Mint is unavailable and features a 2-2 seating configuration, larger seatback screens and onboard food service on longer flights. Flights of at least 899 miles receive the FirstFare meal service.

Limited introductory one-way fares start at $249. Launch examples include $299 between Boston and Fort Lauderdale, $249 between LaGuardia and Fort Lauderdale, and $299 from New York-JFK to Liberia, Costa Rica.
