Hotel Hochschober expands wellness offer on Turracher See with new see-sauna and WaldVilla

Hotel Hochschober on Turracher Höhe in Carinthia has expanded its alpine wellness offer with a newly opened see-sauna and light-filled WaldVilla beside Turracher See. The property, set directly on the lake at 1,763 metres, combines a heated see-pool, spa facilities and access to the water as part of a long-established summer retreat aimed at guests escaping lowland heat. Classic rooms start at about 210 euros per person a night.

The wellness concept centres on a Turkish-style hamam alongside a biosauna, steam baths and an ice fountain, with the lake used for cooling off between sessions. The see-sauna and WaldVilla opened in spring 2026, while the hotel is planning an additional upper floor for the sauna next year. The location continues to attract visitors from cities including Vienna and Munich, where summer temperatures are typically higher than in the alpine resort area.
