Gulfstream deliveries rise as General Dynamics aerospace profit climbs 19%

General Dynamics’ Aerospace segment increased operating earnings by 19.3% in the third quarter of 2026, to $513 million, as revenue grew 9.3% to $3.536 billion. Gulfstream delivered 40 business jets, one more than a year earlier, comprising 35 large-cabin and five mid-cabin aircraft. The segment’s operating margin rose to 14.5% from 13.3%, while its order backlog reached $25.385 billion.

Gulfstream deliveries for the first nine months totalled 119 aircraft, compared with 113 in the same period of 2025. Aerospace orders amounted to $4.97 billion in the quarter, equivalent to a book-to-bill ratio of 1.4 to 1.

General Dynamics attributed the segment’s revenue growth to higher aircraft deliveries, a more favourable mix and increased services revenue at Gulfstream and Jet Aviation. On its earnings call, the company also cited manufacturing and cabin-completion efficiency gains, particularly on the G700 and G800. It delivered its 33rd G800 during the quarter.

The results do not include a model-by-model breakdown of all quarterly deliveries. Aerospace combines General Dynamics’ Gulfstream business-jet operations with Jet Aviation’s services activities.
