GOL has pushed back the first commercial use of its own Airbus A330neo on the Rio de Janeiro–Lisbon route by about one month, moving the change in booking systems from 16 January to 17 February. The airline will keep operating the long-haul service with Wamos Air’s Airbus A330-200 under ACMI capacity until then, while the route remains scheduled at five weekly frequencies between Rio de Janeiro Galeão and Lisbon Humberto Delgado.
The updated timetable still shows no departures on Tuesdays and Fridays, with flights leaving Galeão at 09:00 and Lisbon at 23:30. The postponement extends GOL’s reliance on wet-leased widebody capacity as it builds out its long-haul network and transitions toward operating the route with its own Airbus A330-900neo. No formal explanation for the delay has been independently confirmed.
