GKN Aerospace has publicly unveiled a full-scale uncrewed aerial vehicle demonstrator for Sweden at The Armed Forces Air Venture 2026 in Malmen, Linköping, together with a dedicated turbojet engine. The project, backed by Sweden’s Defence Materiel Administration and the Swedish Armed Forces, is intended to support future uncrewed combat-air technologies and compressed-cycle development work.
The demonstrator emerged in public nine months after GKN Aerospace received the contract in November 2025, with the programme set to run for 18 months. The work spans teams in Sweden, the Netherlands and the UK, combining propulsion, airframe and systems integration expertise. GKN Aerospace has described the vehicle as a flexible test platform rather than a final operational aircraft, designed to support evaluation, integration and manufacturing processes.
The debut is the first public showing of the demonstrator and its engine, shifting the effort from concept and build-up into the next phase of development. Publicly available details do not include a flight-test date, an operational order or a production decision.
