Gilat secures more than $10 million in SkyEdge IV orders from satellite operator

Gilat Satellite Networks has secured more than $10 million in additional orders for its SkyEdge IV platform from a leading satellite operator. The systems are due for delivery over the next 12 months and will support high-capacity satellite networks, including in-flight connectivity, from the company’s base in Petah Tikva, Israel.

The deal adds to ongoing commercial demand for SkyEdge IV, Gilat’s multi-orbit platform aimed at handling rising traffic volumes and broader service requirements. The customer was not identified, leaving the operator unnamed in public material. The orders were disclosed on Wednesday and fall within the publication window for fresh market-moving aviation connectivity news.

For aviation, the order matters because in-flight connectivity remains one of the key use cases cited for the platform. Airline and operator demand for higher-capacity satellite bandwidth continues to drive investment in network equipment that can support more data-intensive services aboard aircraft. Gilat framed the latest orders as part of continued adoption of SkyEdge IV by satellite operators deploying larger and more complex communications networks.
