GDHF secures more than €125 million for Airbus H175 and H160 expansion

GD Helicopter Finance has secured more than €125 million in new financing from Helaba and BayernLB, with support from Bpifrance, to fund purchases of factory-new Airbus H175 and H160 helicopters in 2026 and 2027. The Dublin-based lessor has already drawn the facility to acquire an H160 in September and is using the package to expand its fleet for global leasing and multi-mission operations.

Helaba is acting as lead arranger, facility agent and security trustee, while BayernLB is also a lead arranger. The financing combines bank lending with export-credit support and extends GDHF’s access to the market for new rotorcraft, including additional commitments for Leonardo AW189 helicopters due in 2027.

The transaction follows GDHF’s earlier financing for H160 aircraft in 2024 and comes as the company continues building a portfolio of newer-generation helicopters for customers in offshore oil and gas, wind, emergency medical services, search and rescue, government, corporate and parapublic roles. GDHF is marketing the H175 fleet to worldwide operators and has already placed H160 aircraft into service with customers in Northern Europe.
