flynas has started construction of a new advanced training centre in Riyadh for pilots and cabin crew, with investment reported at more than SAR 200 million, or about $53 million. The facility will rise in the Al Rimal district, less than 10 minutes from King Khalid International Airport, and is due to open in 2028. The project is intended to support the Saudi carrier’s expansion while reducing dependence on external training providers.
The first phase will include three advanced flight simulators, with space in the design for eight and eventual expansion to 14. The centre is planned to train about 700 people a day across pilot, cabin crew, safety and service programmes. Reported partners include Airbus, CAE and Restart, signalling a sizeable training infrastructure buildout for one of the kingdom’s fastest-growing airlines. AviationWeek also reported the start of construction and the project cost above SAR 200 million.
