Flydubai has temporarily suspended all flights to and from Israel after an incident involving flight FZ1073 from Dubai to Tel Aviv on 30 September. The Boeing 737 MAX 8 diverted to Tabuk in Saudi Arabia, where it landed safely, and the airline said the measure applies across its Israel schedule while the investigation continues.
The carrier linked the pause to the need for authorities to establish the facts surrounding the event and said the decision will be reviewed as more information becomes available. An altercation occurred in the flight deck, but on-duty flydubai crew travelling on board secured the aircraft and brought it down safely. All passengers and crew were reported safe and accounted for.
Flydubai deployed two replacement aircraft to Tabuk to assist passengers and crew, while stressing that the disruption does not affect the rest of its network. The suspension creates an immediate short-term impact on one of the Gulf carrier’s key regional routes, with schedule changes and rebooking implications for travellers booked on services to and from Ben Gurion International Airport.
