easyJet takeover timetable pushed back

easyJet’s agreed takeover by Apollo-linked Bidco has been delayed after the parties extended the deadline for publishing the scheme document to 15 October 2026. The move keeps the acquisition process on track, but pushes the Court Meeting and General Meeting into the week beginning 9 November, while completion is still targeted for the end of the first quarter of 2027.

The extension is intended to allow continued engagement with aviation regulators after the summer period. It is procedural rather than a change to the deal’s end target, leaving the commercial terms of the transaction unchanged for now.

The timetable shift matters for easyJet shareholders because the scheme document will set out the formal mechanics of the court-sanctioned takeover and precede the shareholder votes. No new bidder or revised price has emerged, and the latest update points to a slower approval process rather than a broader change in the transaction itself.
