EASA reinstates strict no-fly order for UAE and Qatar airspace until 29 July 2026

EASA reinstated and tightened its Conflict Zone Information Bulletin on 14 July 2026, mandating all EU operators to avoid the airspace of the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait at all altitudes until 29 July 2026. This directive reverses the temporary softening issued last week after a brief ceasefire, as renewed US-Iran military conflict escalated risks to civil aviation. The advisory explicitly prohibits any operation in these FIRs, including high-altitude overflights, and extends the existing no-fly zone for Iran, Iraq, and Lebanon through 31 August 2026. Operators must reroute flights to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Doha, increasing flight times and fuel burn by bypassing the Gulf corridor. The warning also covers the western Gulf of Oman west of 58°E within Muscat FIR.
