The Panama-based Star Alliance member launched its inaugural Starlink-equipped Boeing 737 Max 9 on 4 July 2026, initiating a phased fleet rollout targeting full deployment by Q1 2027. Complimentary access remains restricted to Business Class travelers, ConnectMiles PreferMember Gold/Platinum/Presidential members, and existing Starlink Residential or Roam subscribers; all other passengers must purchase access via the onboard portal. The paid-tier model transforms high-speed connectivity from a passenger benefit into a potential revenue stream, supporting live sports streaming, cloud work applications, online gaming, and real-time browsing without the latency of traditional Ku/Ka-band systems.
