Changi Airport Group has completed construction of its first satellite gate at gate 953, north of Terminal 1, enabling apron boarding via aerobridges for flights parked at remote stands. The standalone, air-conditioned facility replaces exposed tarmac walks, addressing passenger comfort for the approximately 2% of flights not using contact gates. Operational use for selected flights begins August 2026, marking Changi’s first remote satellite gate and a new standard in remote flight operations. CAG will assess demand post-launch to determine if additional gates are required, reducing reliance on bus transfers or outdoor walks for remote stand passengers.
