British Airways unveils A380 cabin overhaul with 106 business class suites

British Airways has revealed the redesigned cabin layout for its first retrofitted Airbus A380, led by 106 Club Suite business-class seats across the entire upper deck and a new First cabin. The overhaul forms part of the carrier’s wider fleet customer-experience investment, with the first refurbished aircraft due to return to service in the coming months.

The modified A380 will carry four cabins from nose to tail, comprising 12 First suites, 106 Club World seats, 84 World Traveller Plus seats and 215 World Traveller seats. The business-class section will be split into four distinct zones, with dedicated dwell areas, Club Kitchens and reworked galley spaces. British Airways is also refreshing the Club Suite product with updated trims, detailing, privacy doors and direct aisle access.

The airline describes the project as one of its most extensive cabin transformations, involving more than 35,000 individual parts per aircraft. The first aircraft to emerge from the programme is expected to operate on selected long-haul routes from Heathrow, where the A380 remains a flagship aircraft in the carrier’s premium network. The upper deck’s all-business-class layout gives the superjumbo its largest Club Suite cabin to date and signals continued investment in the type despite its age.
