Biman Bangladesh Airlines issued a Request for Proposal on 15 July 2026 to dry lease three Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners for 72 months, targeting induction by 1 January 2027. The carrier seeks global bids from operators, owners, manufacturers, and leasing companies, with proposals closing at 10:00 BST on 9 August 2026. Under a dry lease structure, Biman assumes full operational control including maintenance, crew, and insurance, while the lessor delivers only the aircraft. This move supplements the airline’s April 2026 order for eight 787-10s, two 787-9s, and four 737 MAX 8s, bridging capacity gaps ahead of new long-haul routes such as Dhaka-Narita. Lease costs and cabin configurations remain undisclosed in the RFP.
