Austrian Airlines takes delivery of eighth A320neo as OE-LXG arrives in Vienna

Austrian Airlines has taken delivery of its eighth Airbus A320neo, with OE-LXG ferried from Hamburg to Vienna on flight OS1472 on 30 September. The aircraft arrived at the carrier’s home base ahead of schedule, coming only four weeks after the previous A320neo, OE-LXF, joined the fleet.

The aircraft will spend the coming weeks at Austrian’s technical base being brought up to the airline’s own cabin standard before entering scheduled service from mid-October. That work includes Starlink installation and the cargo loading system, reflecting the carrier’s continued narrowbody fleet modernisation programme.

OE-LXF, delivered before OE-LXG, was the first Austrian A320neo fitted with Starlink high-speed Wi-Fi and entered regular service earlier in September. The quick succession of deliveries underlines the pace of the airline’s A320neo rollout and adds another aircraft to the short- and medium-haul fleet as Austrian continues to replace older equipment and expand its standardised narrowbody operation.
