Argentina: Joy Airline to launch regular flights in November

Joy Airline, the trading name of Buenos Aires International Airlines S.A., plans to begin regular domestic flights in Argentina on 16 November, with San Salvador de Jujuy as its base. The initial network will connect Jujuy with Buenos Aires’ Aeroparque Jorge Newbery and Córdoba, offering 19 weekly frequencies with aircraft configured for 50 passengers. The services will combine passenger and cargo transport in both directions.

The Argentine government authorised the routes through Disposición 28/2026, published in the Boletín Oficial on 20 October. The official announcement initially gave 4 November as the start date, with 12 weekly flights to Aeroparque and seven to Córdoba. More recent company scheduling has moved the regular launch to 16 November.

Joy had previously targeted 30 September but suspended ticket sales while making technical adjustments to its reservation system and reviewing fares. Sales have since reopened on the airline’s website, including a basic GO fare without checked baggage or changes.

The carrier also plans charter flights from 27 October for sports delegations and holiday tourism. The route authorisation gives Buenos Aires International Airlines 180 days to demonstrate the required operator certification, so the approval does not independently confirm that all final operational requirements have been completed.
