Ampaire has closed a $19 million Series B financing round backed by DiamondStream Partners and strategic investors including Alaska Airlines and International Airlines Group. The Long Beach, California-based hybrid-electric propulsion developer will use the new capital to push commercialisation of its technology, expand manufacturing and supply chains, and move beyond flight-proven systems toward scaled products and operations.
The round lifts Ampaire’s total funding to $68 million, including about $25 million in non-dilutive grants and contracts. Additional venture and impact investors also joined the financing, extending support beyond the airline-group backers.
Ampaire is developing hybrid-electric aircraft propulsion systems for retrofit and new applications, with its Eco Caravan programme among the aircraft platforms tied to the company’s commercial plans. Airline-group investment from both Alaska and IAG underscores continued strategic interest in hybrid-electric aviation technologies as developers look to translate demonstrations into certified, market-ready products.
