American Airlines to launch third Venezuela route from Miami

American Airlines will add Barcelona in Venezuela’s Anzoátegui state to its network with nonstop service from Miami International Airport starting 15 January 2027. The route will operate three times a week with Embraer E175 aircraft, making Barcelona the US carrier’s third Venezuelan destination after Caracas and Maracaibo and expanding its US–Venezuela schedule to 24 weekly flights.

Flights are scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The Miami departure is planned for 10:15, arriving in Barcelona at 14:52, while the return flight will leave at 15:32 and reach Miami at 18:19. All times are local and remain subject to change.

The service will be American’s first to Barcelona, serving eastern Venezuela and the nearby commercial and industrial centre of Puerto La Cruz. The E175 aircraft will offer a premium cabin, Wi-Fi and in-seat power.

Following the launch, American’s Venezuela operation will comprise 14 weekly flights to Caracas, seven to Maracaibo and three to Barcelona. Reservations are scheduled to open on 19 October through the airline’s website and mobile app. The route follows American’s return to Venezuela earlier in 2026 after a multi-year suspension of service.
